Our lives will be tested by fire when we stand before our Lord. "Each ones works will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet as through fire." (1.Cor.3:13-15) Only one life will soon be past and only what's done for Christ will last! John the Baptist said, "I indeed baptise you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire!" (Luke 3:16)
Oh, that Jesus would so immerse our lives with holy fire that will burn up everything that does not bring Him glory! We need to lay it all down! Let it go up in smoke now! May our lives be ablaze for the praise of the One who died for our sins and rose in three days!
